Thousand Oaks Baptist Church is committed to the following ministries...

PREACHING:

We strive to preach the whole Word of God.  It is the main focus of our services.  Our goal is that through the preaching and teaching of the scriptures, we might see the lost come to know Christ as Savior and that the saved might continue to grow in their daily walk with the Savior.  2 Timothy 3:16, 17

EVANGELISM:

Our commission has been given us by the Lord when he said, “Go ye therefore, and teach ….” Matthew 28:19, 20.  We take this commission very seriously.  Therefore, we deem it necessary to share the gospel message with everyone who does not know Jesus Christ.  We also support and encourage worldwide missions.  Because our ministry is to the whole community, we have opened our doors and hearts to the fastest growing ethnic group in our city, the Hispanic community.

WORSHIP:

We are told in Psalm 29:2 “Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.”  Therefore, every day we should seek a time alone with God when we can read His word and talk to him in prayer.  This should culminate on the Lord’s Day with a time of corporate worship.  We believe Hebrews 10:25 would motivate us to be regular attendees at the services of the church.

MUSIC:

Music has always played an important part in worship to God.  Our congregation loves the heart warming old Hymns of the Faith.  Traditional Christian music is the choice of Thousand Oaks Baptist Church, and we realize that makes us distinctive in this day and age.  If your heart still desires to sing the grand old Hymns of the Faith, we would love to have you visit us.

THE LORD'S SUPPER:

We observe the Lord’s Supper every month with great emphasis upon Jesus Christ, in whom our sins were nailed to the Cross, and upon His precious blood, through which we have redemption, even the forgiveness of our sins.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES:

We also meet on Sunday evenings, believing one meal a day is not sufficient whether it be physical or spiritual.  Our Wednesday evening Prayer and Bible Study fills the need for mid-week spiritual sustenance.

FAMILY SPIRIT:

Family spirit, friendliness, and Christian fellowship are high priorities with us.  If you stop by and visit us, we'll make you feel right at home.
